I was recently sent a DIY Bath Salt Kit for review, so let’s check it out!

Everything was shipped in a medium-sized brown box with the Simply Earth logo on top & the name of the kit on the side.

A peek in the box!

Pink Himalayan Salt
Pink Himalayan Salt is rich in nutrients & minerals and can be used in DIY recipes like muscle soaks, detox baths, or salt scrubs. Not only does it add a pretty pop of pink, but it also helps to exfoliate and soothe the skin.

Mineral Sea Salt
True to its name, mineral sea salt is loaded with skin-nourishing minerals and nutrients. It has been used throughout history to increase circulation, improve the appearance of skin, and improve skin hydration.

Natrasorb Bath Powder
Natrasorb Bath Powder is made with modified tapioca starch which allows it to absorb and carry large amounts of carrier oils, emulsifying wax, and essential oils. When it comes in contact with water, it immediately dissolves — releasing the oils and spreading them out into the water.

Dried Rose Petals
These all natural dried rose petals are great for sprinkling on top of soap, mixing into scrubs, bath bombs, and bath salts. They add a great pop of color and light fragrance!

Dried Lavender Flowers
Lavender is often utilized in aromatherapy to help relieve stress/anxiety and support a good night’s rest. The dried flowers above will be added to the bath salt for both its pretty purple hue and its soothing properties.

Test Tubes
Ten plastic test tube containers were provided to store the bath salts. A metal cap easily screws onto the tube to securely hold its contents.

A separate, smaller box held the remaining materials/ingredients.

Simply Earth Palmarosa Essential Oil
Palmarosa essential oil is a great natural remedy for skin blemishes like acne, psoriasis, eczema, and similar conditions. Its antibacterial properties help to aid in balancing the sebum production in the skin to help maintain oil levels — while at the same time balancing your mood. Palmarosa is known for having a very sweet and floral scent that’s described as soft and uplifting.

Simply Earth Tranquility Essential Oil Blend
“Tranquility” is a blend that was created to “promote feelings of contentment, composure, and reassurance, helping you feel more at ease and bringing about a sense of well-being when nervous feelings try to overwhelm your emotions.” It contains a fragrant combination of lemon, orange, ylang ylang, patchouli, and amyris essential oils.

Bath Tea Bags
Ten small fabric (muslin?) bags were provided to hold the bath salts when you’re ready to pop them in the tub. Just take one of your filled tubes, pour it into the bag, and pull the drawstring closed. Then toss it in your bath and swirl it around to help disperse the salt & oils.

Label Stickers
A sheet of pre-printed label stickers was provided for adhering to your completed bath salt tubes. It includes a full list of ingredients, which is always good to have when using as a gift.

“Still Waters Bath Salts” Recipe Card
The all-important recipe card listed all of the materials needed, along with complete step-by-step instructions (more shown on back, not pictured.)
Okay, time to make some bath salts!

To begin, I placed the specified amount of Natrasorb bath powder into a small bowl and mixed in the essential oils.

This mixture will help the oils to disperse into your bath water safely and evenly.

With that prepared, it was already time to fill the test tube bottles! — The layering started with a small amount of the Natrasorb/essential oil blend.

The pink Himalayan salt was next. — I added a bit too much in the photo above and had to pour some out to fit the rest of the ingredients. (The recipe called for 1 Tbsp of the remaining ingredients, but I tweaked it to 1.5 tsp to properly fit.)

The mineral sea salt came next…

…followed by the pretty purple lavender flowers/buds.

The final addition was a pinch of fragrant red rose petals.

Look at those lovely layers! 😀

Such gorgeous colors — and all derived from natural ingredients.

The finishing touch: A pre-printed label sticker complete with full ingredient list.
