Let’s see what’s in the November 2019 Vegan SnackSack!
As always, everything was shipped in their custom blue (turquoise?) & white SnackSack box.
A peek inside!
A tri-fold info sheet listed all of the items included in each of the 3 available boxes (Classic, Vegan, and Gluten-Free) and gave brief descriptions of each product.
Popchips Sea Salt & Vinegar Popped Chip Snack
These gluten-free potato snacks are popped (not fried), making them a healthier alternative to regular chips. In fact, they contain half the fat of the traditional fried version. They also contain no artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives. Plus, each bag has only 100 calories.
I Am(aranth) Crunchy Peanuts
November’s box included two flavors of these crunchy peanuts coated in toasted amaranth — Lime & Himalayan Salt and Habanero & Himalayan Salt. I’ve already tried the lime version and man, is it ever… potent. I enjoyed the crunchiness of the coating, but the flavor was just a bit too overwhelming for me. I can only imagine how spicy the habanero ones are!
Enjoy Life Sugar Crisp Crunchy Mini Cookies
I’ve yet to meet an Enjoy Life product that I haven’t, well, enjoyed. 🙂 These mini “sugar crisp” cookies are free of the most common food allergens and are made in a dedicated nut & gluten free facility. They’re also delicious.
Betty Lou’s Blackberry Fruit Bar
This all natural fruit bar consists of a fruity filling surrounded by a flaky crust, which (as the package claims) “tastes like a piece of pie!”. Sounds good to me! It’s made with non-GMO ingredients and is both vegan-friendly & gluten-free.
Kibo Foods Mediterranean Herbs Chickpea Chips
Touting 7 grams of plant-based protein per serving, these flavorful chips are made with all natural ingredients including chickpea flour, yellow split peas, and spices. They contain no preservatives and have just 110 calories & 1 gram of sugar per serving.
Ekoa Pure Pineapple/Coconut Dried Fruit Bars
If you can’t have fresh fruit, these bars are the next best thing. The pineapple bar is made with only two ingredients (dates & dried pineapple), while the coconut version contains three (dates, dried banana, dried coconut). Both contain no added coloring, flavors, or anything artificial. Just 100% natural goodness.
Tahoe Peanut Butter Chocolate Trail Bar
I had this today for an afternoon snack and it was awesome! It was a little higher in calories and sugar than I’d like, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The combination of oats, seeds, dried fruits, nuts, and chocolate made for a tasty, filling treat.
Theo Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Bar
I’m not crazy about plain dark chocolate bars, so I was happy to see that this one also contained a pinch of sea salt to combat the plain-ness. The bar also features organic, non-GMO ingredients including fair trade cocoa beans, cane sugar, and cocoa butter.
The GFB Gluten-Free Dark Chocolate Coconut Bites
These little truffle-like bites are made with wholesome ingredients including crisped brown rice, dates, toasted coconut, flaxseed and more. Not only are they gluten-free, but soy-free and vegan-friendly as well.
Go Raw Simply Lime Sprouted Organic Snacking Seeds
These raw “snacking seeds” contain just 5 simple ingredients: sprouted pumpkin seeds, sprouted sunflower seeds, lime juice*, coconut nectar, and sea salt. They sound interesting, but after trying the lime peanuts earlier in this review, I’m not too sure I’m ready for any more lime flavored snacks just yet. 😉
November’s vegan SnackSack box had a nice mix of both new-to-me products and old favorites. My personal favorites were the Tahoe Trail Bar, Enjoy Life Cookies, GFB Bites, and Theo Chocolate Bar. 🙂 — Remember, if you’d like to try out SnackSack for yourself, you can save 10% for LIFE with coupon code “ROSE″!
