Let’s see what’s in the October 2016 SnackSack!
The big white & green SnackSack box.
A peek inside!
The information card listed everything inside, along with helpful symbols next to each one indicating whether it’s vegan, gluten-free, and/or non-GMO.
Saffron Road Sea Salt Bean Stalks – I love bean-based snacks and these ones are totally new to me. They’re straw-shaped crisps made with green peas, cannellini beans, pinto beans, and other natural ingredients. Each serving has 4 grams of plant-based protein and these are both gluten-free & vegan-friendly.
PopCORNers Carnival Kettle Corn Chips – Crunchy popped corn chips drizzled with sunflower oil, cane sugar, and salt.
Vegan Rob’s Spinach & Matcha Kettle Chips – Okay, I’m a big fan of kettle chips and I’m cool with the addition of spinach, but matcha…? I get that it’s kinda “in” now, but I’d prefer to keep it out of my chips. 😉
Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars – My kids LOVE these fig bars. They eat one nearly every day as a treat after lunch. These are made with ancient grains including teff & amaranth and are both dairy- and gluten-free. Our local supermarket only carries the blueberry, strawberry, and fig flavors so my girls will be excited to see this new pomegranate variety!
Justin’s Organic Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups – Ooh! These are SO good. Organic peanut butter cups featuring Justin’s peanut butter and real dark chocolate. Mmm.
Chosen Foods Vanilla Bites with Chia – A plant-based snack made with peanuts, almonds, pecans, chia seeds, and other natural ingredients. One packet has an impressive 5 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein.
Cosmos Cheddar and Pepper Puffed Corn – Gluten-free corn puffs made with non-GMO corn, aged cheddar cheese, cracked pepper, and minimally processed ingredients.
Cosmos Salted Caramel Puffed Corn – More corn puffs, but these ones look more popcorn-like and are flavored with real caramel and sea salt.
Laughing Giraffe Organics Chocolate Snakaroon – A raw, vegan treat made with organic unsweetened coconut, agave nectar, cacao, coconut sugar, vanilla extract, and Himalayan pink salt. It was a little on the dry side, but the flavor was decent.
Walkers Gluten Free Shortbread – Certified gluten-free shortbread cookies made with a wheat-free flour blend, butter, sugar, and salt. Classic shortbread flavor without hydrogenated oils or gluten ingredients.
Torie & Howard Fruity Hard Candies – Organic hard candies flavored with real fruit.
I was sort of hoping for a more festive October SnackSack like the one they sent last year, but this was good too. 😉 My favorite items this time were the Justin’s peanut butter cups, Nature’s Bakery fig bars, and Saffron Road bean stalks. 🙂 — Remember, if you’d like to try out SnackSack for yourself, you can save 10% on your first purchase with my exclusive coupon code “ROSE10″!
