July Terra Bella Box review time!
If you’re not aware, Terra Bella Box is a subscription box that focuses on all natural beauty and skin care. They’ve previously included a mix of products for face, body, bath, and hair… However, starting in July there will be some changes. — A new box will be available which will feature only makeup items. It’ll be called the Makeup Edit box and will contain at least 3 items per month and will cost $29.95, including free shipping within the US.
Also starting in July, they’ll be reducing the number of items in their regular Terra Bella Box from 5-6 items per month to 3-4 items per month. The box will now cost $32.95 per month, which includes free shipping in the U.S. and flat rate shipping to Canada and Australia, and actual shipping costs for the rest of the world. This box will contain skincare, body care, hair, and bath items. (Note: July is a transition month and will still contain a variety of these items AND makeup items–the true separation will occur in August.) Subscribers can switch between the two boxes any time they like (as long as they switch before the cutoff window — usually the 20th of the month.) You can still skip a month any time you like.
Whether you choose the regular Terra Bella Box or the new Makeup Edit box, new subscribers can get a FREE bonus item in their first box with coupon code “2LREXTRA“.
Okay, now let’s see what’s in the July 2016 Terra Bella Box!
As always, the box featured a green leaf design on the outside and dark green tissue paper surrounding the items inside.
The 2-sided info card listed every product in the July box, along with descriptions and retail prices for each one.
Skin Fix Margarita Sour Body Scrub ($16) – Mmm! This body scrub smells so nice — just like a margarita sour! It’s made with all natural ingredients including pink Himalayan salt, shea butter, coconut oil, and an essential oil blend. It’s 100% vegan and can be used on both your face & body.
Ellison’s Organics 5-Free Nail Lacquer in Island Sunset ($12) – I’ve used polish from this brand in the past and was always happy with it. However, this one… not so much. 🙁 I didn’t realize it was a matte formula when I put in on, which was a bummer since I don’t really like the look of matte polish. Also, I couldn’t get it to apply very evenly and it ended up looking like a 4-year-old painted my nails with colored chalk. (Not a good look.) Of course, I do appreciate the fact that it’s 5-free and maybe if I was into matte polish I’d be happier with it. Maybe.
Sarah’s Sweet Scrubs Pineapple & Lillikoi Aloe After Sun Organic Lotion Bar ($13) – Whew! That’s quite the title. 😉 This 100% natural & organic lotion bar traveled all the way from Hawaii, where it was handmade. Ingredients include aloe, mango, cocoa & shea butters, Samoan coconut oil, Kauai beeswax, and Hawaiian grown essential oils. After a long day in the sun, just rub this bar between your hands and massage into your skin for natural relief.
Parlo Cosmetics Lip Polish in Bahama Mama ($6) – A handmade lip polish made with all natural oils and waxes. Bahama Mama is a bright reddish orange shade, which is just way too bold for me.
While I didn’t quite enjoy this month’s Terra Bella Box as much as June’s offering, it still had a couple items I’ll happily use. I was a little bummed to find that the polish was a matte formula, but I’ll live. 😉 The total retail value for July’s box was just under $50! — Remember, if you’d like to sign up for Terra Bella Box, new subscribers can get a FREE bonus item in their first box with coupon code “2LREXTRA“!
