September Tonttu Box review time!
If you haven’t heard, Tonttu Box is a subscription box that sends an assortment of products for moms, babies, and expectant parents. Each box will feature 5 to 6 items carefully curated and tailored for your baby’s age and gender. Items can include unique handmade finds, educational books, toys, delicious treats, natural & organic cosmetics, healthy snacks, and more. Tonttu Box makes a point to support small local businesses, artists, and they love to give back. In fact, if you have any gently used baby clothes that you’d like to part with, just send them to Tonttu Box (in your Tonttu Box) and they’ll deliver them to families in need.
Subscriptions are $40/month, or less with multi-month commitments. US shipping is free.
Let’s see what’s in the September 2016 Tonttu Box!
The box! (The little gnome/elf guy in the logo is actually a Tonttu — the Finnish term for a little dwarf who keeps families happy and safe.)
A peek inside.
I guess that makes me an extraordinarily good mom then. 😉
A fold-out info sheet listed all of the items in the box, along with brief descriptions and retail values for each one. September’s theme was “Queen Mommy”.
Spruce & Fresh Petite Four Bath Bombs ($12) – How pretty are these bath bombs?! Each one is hand-painted with gold shimmer for a luxurious, regal feel. They’re made with pampering ingredients including virgin organic coconut oil, apricot kernel oil, rose kaolin clay, and mini rosebuds. So fancy!
Sauce for Skin Baby Balm ($7) – A handmade balm to help moisturize baby’s dry, itchy, or sensitive skin. It’s made with shea butter, coconut oil, and avocado oil to provide deep hydration.
Cuddly Doodles Margaret the Owl with Coffee ($10.80) – This sweet little owl plush was handmade in the UK by artist Eve Malinina. It’s made of cotton fabric & polyester fill and is safe for all ages. It even comes with its own fabric storage bag that can double as her “bed”. My girls both took a quick liking to her and argued about who got to play with it first. 😉
Perfect Brows by Green Touch Beauty ($34.50) – An all natural, 100% botanical brow growth balm that helps improve the density of thin brows. Using the included mini brush, just apply the balm/primer to your brows and shape them as desired. The exclusive formula makes your eyebrows stay in place and helps to regenerate growth for fuller natural brows over time.
Toby is MY Bear by Teacher Kira ($10) – A book for children 3 to 6 that helps to initiate discussions about conflict resolution. With two strong-willed 4-year-olds, I can definitely use some help in this area! The text itself is brief and easy to understand, but the drawings could use a little color/modernizing.
The September Tonttu Box included another nice assortment of both mom and baby products. My favorite items were the stuffed owl and fancy bath bombs. The book seemed a little older than the intended ages of this box, but since I happen to have 4 year olds, I didn’t mind. 🙂 The total retail value of everything in September’s box was just under $75!
