August Fit Snack time!
If you’re new to them, Fit Snack is a snack subscription box that’s curated to include items that are both well balanced and nutrient dense. When selecting products to include in the box, they use the Fit Snack “Perfect 10″. Put simply, they look for snacks that fall into one or more of these categories: Nutrient Dense (high in protein, complex carbs, low sugar index), Consciously Made (GMO free, organic production, sustainably farmed), and Diversified Energy (gluten free, clean eating, paleo, raw).
Each box will contain 6 to 9 healthy (yet satisfying) items that have total retail value of at least $30. While most of the items fall into the “snack” category, they also send cooking mixes, oils, and the like.
Subscriptions are $24/month (shipping included), or less with longer, multi-month commitments. It also looks like they ship worldwide. If you join Fit Snack using my link, you’ll save $3 on your first box!
Let’s see what’s in the August 2015 Fit Snack box!
A peek inside!
The info card listed all of the snacks, as well as short descriptions and a few discount codes.
Kutoa Nutrition Bar in Blueberry Almond – I’ve gotten these in other snack boxes and they’re not bad for a mid-afternoon snack. They’re made with real fruit and nuts, as well as chia & flaxseed for a nice boost of omega 3’s.
Don’t Go Nuts Slightly Sweet Nut Free Dip – An organic, nut-free spread made with roasted soybeans. It’s both gluten- and dairy-free.
Purely Elizabeth Blueberry Hemp Granola – Slow baked granola made with ancient grains including quinoa, amaranth, and chia. It’s vegan, gluten-free, and can be eaten right out of the pouch with our without milk.
Trophy Farms Oven Roasted Almonds – Fit Snack sent the peanut version of these roasted nuts last month and I really enjoyed them. Almonds make a great, super healthy snack choice.
YummySnack Cheddar Baked Cheese Chips – I received these cheese chips in another box this month as well. — They’re made of 99% cheese! Crazy. They’re also grain-free, gluten-free and packed with protein.
Love Grown Foods Honey Power O’s Cereal – This cereal is actually made with a blend of beans. Navy, lentil, and garbanzo, to be specific. I bought these for the girls to try a few months back, but sadly they weren’t havin’ it. I’ll try again with this little box and hope for the best.
Morning Sunshine Kitchen Gluten Free Dark Chocolate & Flax Breakfast Cookie – I’m super excited to try this one! It’s an all natural, gluten-free & vegan breakfast cookie made with dark chocolate and packed with fiber & protein. Yum!
Balance Bare Mixed Berry Nut Bar – A natural energy bar made with real fruit and nuts. It’s made without gluten, soy, or GMO ingredients.
Runa Orange Passion Clean Energy Drink – An organic, naturally flavored energy drink with no added sugar and only 10 calories per serving.
MRM Veggie Elite in Vanilla Bean – A plant-based protein dietary supplement powder that’s said to be the only plant-based formula to rival whey. Two packets were included, but one had a puncture wound so I tossed it. 🙁
The featured Fit Snack workout this month was a “Core Awakening Yoga Flow”.
Once again, another nice offering from Fit Snack. A good variety of snacks, with plenty of vegan-friendly items included. I can’t wait to try that breakfast cookie!
