Merkaela is a quarterly subscription box that sends you a seasonally inspired collection of products that offer a holistic approach to a clear mind, body and spirit.
Each box will include 7 to 10 items, most of which are handmade in-house at their home base in New York City. Their botanical offerings feature non-toxic, nutrient-rich essential oils, butters, natural herbs and other ingredients meant to nourish the body, mind and spirit. Items can include body scrubs, mineral bath salts, natural bar soaps, herbal teas, face masks, crystals, and more. All products are 100% cruelty free and packaged in eco-friendly materials.

Let’s see what’s in the Summer 2019 Merkaela box!
Everything was shipped in an orange colored box with a small Merkaela logo and this quarter’s theme — “Manifest” printed across the top.
A peek inside!
An info card explained the meaning behind the theme and listed all of the items in this quarter’s box, along with short descriptions of each one. Links to a theme-related meditation and playlist were also provided.
A small affirmation card was included to set the tone for the box and allow you to choose something personal you’d like to welcome into your life.
To help you continually hone your manifestation skills, a printed list of tips was provided for you to revisit every 90 days or so.
Sun Salt Bath ($18)
This all natural sun salt bath contains a detoxifying blend of salts — Mediterranean sea salt, Himalayan, epsom & dendritic — along with orange peel, passionflower, and essential oils of orange, bergamot, and cedarwood. It’s designed to naturally realign the chakras, while effectively soothing sore muscles and melting away stress. It also has a nice, uplifting citrus scent that’s ideal for the summer months.
Palmarosa Shea Body Butter ($21)
Pretty sure that I mention this in every review for them, but Merkaela makes some of the thickest, most nourishing body butters out there. The formula has an organic shea butter base with oils of hemp, olive, jojoba, and babassu. It has a nice, light fragrance that includes a blend of rosemary, calendula, lavender, licorice, palmarosa, amber, and vetiver. Massage into your skin to hydrate the body and calm the mind.
Sweet Orange Soap Bar ($8.50)
Soap bars are one of my favorite items to receive in subscription boxes. — Especially all natural, vegan-friendly bars like this one. 🙂 It’s made with a blend of natural oils and herbal extracts including saponified organic oils of palm, coconut, olive and palm kernel, natural citrus essential oil blend, orange oil, orange peel, and rosemary extract. Another great pick for summertime!
Deep Ocean Clay Mask ($16)
This 100% natural clay mask contains a blend of organic sea kelp, dried sea clay, spirulina, and kaolin clay to help rejuvenate, detoxify, restore, and balance the skin. To use, simply mix a small amount of clay with a few drops of water to make a paste. Spread evenly over your face, leave on for 10-20 minutes, then rinse. It can also be used as a spot treatment for stubborn blemishes.
Sage Rose Meditation Elixir ($18.50)
Specially formulated to bridge the connection to the heart center, this fragrant meditation elixir will inspire feelings of sacred love, beauty, and creativity. Spray in the air or on the top of your crown to instantly clear your aura and elevate the surrounding energy.
Hibiscus Tea Ritual ($8)
According to the info card, hibiscus has been consumed for centuries in Ancient Egypt and Mexico for its hydrating effect. Due to its high concentration of antioxidants and vitamin C, it’s said to promote youthful skin & overall wellness. The pretty, pink/red-hued tea can be enjoyed both hot or iced.
Sacred Sage ($6.50)
Sage is known as a natural purifier that can be used to eliminate harmful bacteria from the air. It can also transform the energy of the body & mind and support the feng shui or energy of a home. To use this smudge stick, simply ignite it with a match or lighter — making sure to do so with a clear mind and good intentions. Hold at about a 45 degree angle pointing the tip down toward the flame, allowing it to burn for about 30 seconds to 1 minute and then blow out. Then, with smoking sage stick in hand, walk around your workspace, home, car, bathroom or anywhere you would like to clear the energy.
