The My Pretend Place Pretend Play Projects box is geared towards children 3 to 8 years old. It contains all of the materials needed to complete a new pretend play item each month. They actually include enough materials to make 2 of each project — perfect for siblings or friends to join in the fun.
Subscriptions are just $15/month and shipping is free.
Let’s see what’s in April’s My Pretend Place Pretend Play Projects box!
Everything was shipped inside a My Pretend Place branded box, which was protected by an outer Priority Mail envelope.
April’s box was all about birds and included a welcome note with some fun facts about our feathered friends.
Paper Roll Binoculars – The first project involved making your own paper binoculars (for bird watching, of course!). The kit included 4 craft rolls, 2 strings, 4 felt stickers, 2 tape pieces, and 2 bottles of glue (one was actually for the other project… oops!). The project involved glueing 2 paper rolls together, securing them with the tape, attaching a string for wearing around your neck, and decorating them with the felt stickers. My girls are still a little too young for projects like these, but you can see the finished product in the photo of the instructions. So cute!
Easy Bird Feeder – The second project was to build a simple bird feeder. The kit included 72 craft sticks, 2 pots of tempera paint, 2 brushes, glue, and string. Your child just needs to paint the sticks, glue them together, add some fun decorations, and BAM! — a bird feeder is made! Use the included string to hang in the nearest tree, fill with seeds, and let the bird-watching commence. 🙂
Also included were stickers and a plastic handle to turn the shipping box into a suitcase or dress-up chest for continued pretend play.
What a great subscription for little ones! I love that they include projects that can be played with over and over — not just some craft that looks pretty but serves no real purpose.
