I’ve made a few changes to the blog this week and more are on the way… Instead of the ridiculously long drop-down menu for reviews, I set up a page with all of the reviews I’ve done, broken down by categories. It’ll be kept as up-to-date as possible and you can check it out right here. (It’s still found under the “Reviews Aplenty” tab in the menu bar.) I also made a page for box discounts, instead of listing them all in these “Week in Review” posts. Right now it’s mostly discounts for boxes I’ve already reviewed, but I’ll try […]
Mia Tempo is a monthly subscription box featuring all natural/organic spa and beauty products. Their mission is to provide you some much needed “me time” with a relaxing, spa-like experience each and every month. What could be better than that? This —> With each box sold, Mia Tempo donates a portion of the proceeds to non-profit organizations that empower women. Sounds good to me! This month they debuted their first “Limited Edition Signature Box”, which is the box that I’m lucky enough to be reviewing. Lucky, because this is the first box in which ALL of the products are completely vegan/gluten-free! […]
Love With Food just launched a new “deluxe” box and September (this box!) marked its official debut. Their regular box is $12/month, and this new one is $19.95/month (shipping included for both options). There was supposedly a waitlist to sign up for deluxe one, but I think current subscribers were instantly switched if they decided to go with the new option. You could also keep your “regular” box and get the deluxe as well. This month’s box was curated by Chef Ming Tsai and featured products that are all gluten-free. (Many of them are also vegan. Woo!) I was excited […]
The girls went to their first wedding in mid-August. It was an all-day event (as in eight hours!) and they did freakin’ awesome. I finally got around to editing some of the photos I took, so I figured I’d share. Oh, and if they all look like the same baby, it’s cos they’re pretty much all Chloe. Everly was passed around a lot, being the little social butterfly that she is, so I didn’t get many shots of her. 🙁 Sorry, Ev.
The Fantasy Box is a monthly subscription service designed to help you spice up your love life. (Yep, I’ve finally taken the plunge… I’m reviewing an “adult” box!) If you know me (or Mike) personally and would like to keep thinking that a stork dropped off our girls, you should probably skip this post. (If it helps, I’m reviewing the items before they get any use.) For everyone else, be forewarned: There will be photos of items intended for mature readers. (Ooh la la!)
Whimseybox is a fun subscription box for those who like to get their craft on! Each month they send you a different DIY project, along with all of the supplies needed to complete it. They also include a pretty 5×7 art print to collect and/or get crafty with. Their motto is “Stop Pinning and Start Making!”. I must admit, I’m not a very crafty person. Like, at all. When I was little I LOVED crafts, but now… not so much. However, now that I have 2 little girls of my own who’ll likely be all about “making things” in a […]
Nothing too interesting to report this week. The weather’s been cooler and I’m lovin‘ it. Bought our cinnamon broom at Wegmans last weekend, so our house is officially in full-on autumn mode. My new “sweet cinnamon pumpkin” candle is already half gone and I’m drinkin’ Tim Hortons hot apple cider on the regular. Life is good. DISCOUNTS Citrus Lane – $10 off your first month when you click here. Conscious Box – FREE BOX with coupon code “ONEFREE“. Click here. Just pay shipping. Cultured Crate – $5 off a 3, 6, or 9 month subscription when you use the code “ROSEBUDS“. Or use “SEPTEMBER” to save $10 off a 6 or 9 […]
I love that Vegan Presence ships at the beginning of the month. LOVE. IT. However, that said, this month’s offerings were kinda disappointing for me. As always, the items were beautifully packaged. That’s never an issue. They always put such care into wrapping everything up so nicely and making you feel like you’re opening gifts from a friend. It’s a nice, personal touch that I really appreciate. I suppose my “issue” this month was due to the fact that they had a guest curator choose all of the items. Normally, this wouldn’t be a biggie, except that the person chosen […]
My Giggle Box is a monthly subscription box full of crafts & fun projects for kiddos aged 3-7. Every box includes detailed instructions, along with all of the materials needed for each activity. Gfreely is a monthly subscription box for gluten-free snacks. As you can see from the photo above, they pack the boxes with a nice assortment of gluten-less goodies for all your healthy snackin’ needs. Boxes are $25/month (with a monthly sub, shipping included) or as low as $19/mo with a 3 or 6 month commitment. Like something you receive in your box and wanna buy more? Gfreely has an online shop chock full o’ all your faves. Yay for convenience! Okay, time to see what’s in the August box…
It’s been super hot & humid in my neck o’ the woods as of late. So gross. Blech. I’m waitin’ on you, autumn — Let’s do this! In other, just as thrilling non-weather-related news, I finally finished the last episode of Orange is the New Black. SO good. Never would have guessed it would end with a scene right out of The Christmas Story. (Don’t worry, that’s totally not a spoiler… I don’t think.) Okay, onto the box stuff… DISCOUNTS Citrus Lane – $10 off your first month when you click here. Conscious Box – FREE BOX with coupon code “ONEFREE“. Click here. Just pay shipping. Cultured Crate – $5 […]
FabKids is a monthly clothing subscription for toddlers & older kiddos (sizes 2-12). Each month you can choose a 3-piece outfit that best fits your child’s style. There are plenty of different outfits to choose from (and mix n’ match), but if nothing appeals to you (or your little one), no problem! You can skip a month… or two… or as many as you’d like. You’re never *forced* to buy anything. A+ for that! I received a code in this month’s Citrus Lane box that was good for one free outfit. I only had to pay $4.95 for shipping… Which […]
Little Passports is a fun subscription service that takes your child on an interactive adventure across the country or around the world (or both!). Each month your child will receive a package of goodies that teaches them about “geography, history, culture, and language in a fun and memorable way”. There are two different subscription options available: The World Edition, which introduces your child to a new country every month (for children 5-10) and The USA Edition, which features 2 different states per month (for children 7-12). Each option comes with a different set of materials (World Edition comes with a […]
