Ecocentric Mom November/December 2014 “Mom & Baby Box” Review

Ecocentric Mom time! I always look forward to this box for two reasons: One, it only comes every other month (the wait makes it more exciting). Two, I never know what’s going to be inside. It’s rare that I ever see a spoiler/review before receiving my box, so the contents always remain a mystery.

If you’re unaware, Ecocentric Mom is a unique subscription box that features mom & baby products that are eco-friendly, natural, organic, and often vegan-friendly. I haven’t gotten an Urthbox since March so I was surprised when this November box just kinda showed up unexpectedly the other day. I’m not a fan of unexpected visitors, but snacks? Those can show up whenever the heck they want.

Yep, I’ve finally decided to jump on the bandwagon and sign up for Birchbox! I had heard really good things about it and was curious if I’d enjoy it more than Ipsy. Plus, I also heard they had an awesome rewards system and was eager to check it out.

Citrus Lane November 2014 Review #2 + Black Friday Deal

As with the last few boxes I’ve reviewed, my November Citrus Lane box was also mega late due to the winter storm. It was totally worth the wait though, because I LOVE it!

It’s $29/month (less with longer term subscriptions) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom. Love With Food November 2014 Review & Black Friday Deal

Phew! I didn’t think I’d ever see my November Love With Food box. First, they notified me that it would be late and credited my account with 200 points for the trouble. Then the winter storm hit and delayed the box even more. Finally it arrived yesterday, in a big ol’ heap of equally tardy boxes.

Winter Storm 2014 aka The Week Without Subscription Boxes

Thanks to the big record-breaking winter (autumn?) storm that hit the Buffalo area last week, I’m way behind on my subscription box reviews. I haven’t gotten any packages delivered and I can’t really review what I don’t have. (I’m not that awesome. Not yet, anyway.)

Luckily, when it was all said and done my neighborhood only got about 7 inches of snow. Other nearby not so fortunate areas of the city/’burbs got over 6 FEET. In-SANE! My brother-in-law was actually stuck on the thruway for over 8 hours. With no signs of getting rescued, he had to tunnel through the snow to seek shelter in a nearby hotel. Sadly, others weren’t so lucky. I believe there were a total of 13 storm-related deaths last week. Awful.

So on that note, I suppose as much as I’ve missed my mail delivery, things could have been a LOT worse.

With all that behind us… BRING ON THE BOXES!! 😉

I was excited when my November bluum box was delivered before I even got a shipping notification. Unfortunately, the excitement ended there…

If you’re new here, bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies & kiddos from birth through age 5. Each box contains five or more products that are responsibly sourced, eco-friendly and often organic. The contents are based on the age of your kiddo in months, so boxes tend to vary a LOT.
