My “regular” Citrus Lane box finally arrived today. I reviewed the May box that my mom got a few days ago here. Last month she got hers like a week late, and this month she got it before I got mine. (We live like 20 minutes away from one another.) Why you gotta be all weird with shipping, Citrus Lane? Yeesh.

Anywhooo… If you’re new to them, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids aged newborn-5. It’s $29/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom. (Not this time… )

MissionCute is a newer subscription box that features unique products from smaller, independent artists and businesses. Every month, 50% of their net proceeds is donated to a different nonprofit organization.

MissionCute’s motto is “Making a difference one box of cute stuff at a time”.

Boxes are $29/month and shipping is always free.

bluum May 2014 Review & 50% Off First Box!

Yay! My May bluum box came today! It usually seems to take a lot longer, so I was surprised to see it here already. — Hey, I’m not complaining!

bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies & kiddos from birth through age 5. Each box contains 5 or more products that are responsibly sourced, eco-friendly and often organic.

There used to be monthly “themes”, but they’ve moved away from that and instead curate each box based upon your child’s current age in months. bluum also just announced that they’ve joined forces with Stork Stack, so anyone who had a subscription with them (Stork Stack) will now be receiving boxes from bluum instead.

My girls are currently 21 months old, so the bluum box I received was for 22 months. Let’s see what they sent! [read more…]

Vegan Presence time! As always, I was excited to get my package, but also a little sad knowing there’s only going to be one more month of goodies. (They’re closing up shop after June. 🙁 )

If you’re not aware, Vegan Presence is a monthly subscription box service that features — you guessed it — 100% vegan-friendly products. Items can range from food to beauty to household essentials. You never really know what you’re gonna get, but you can rest assured that it’ll always be totally cruelty-free. (And packaged prettily too!) Why must they close?! Wahhhhh!

Ipsy Glam Bag May 2014 Review

Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories. This is my second month with them (you can see April’s review here).

When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. Each bag will contain 4-6 full sized and deluxe sample sized products from top cosmetics brands.

Ipsy is only $10/month and offers a nice rewards program that gives you points for reviewing your products and referring friends to join. Points can be redeemed for “bonus items” in your next bag. Awesome!

M is for Monster is a monthly craft & activity box for both toddlers and preschool aged children. Boxes contain a month’s worth of activities, broken down into 4 separate weeks that each feature a fun new theme. All of the materials required for each activity/craft is included right in the box.

Toddler boxes (appropriate for children ages 2-3) include activities that focus on uppercase letters, basic shapes, the numbers 1-10, and more. Preschool boxes (for ages 4-5) focus more on lowercase letters, numbers 1-20, shapes, and more advanced skills.

Gramsly is a service that provides personalized care packages for older adults. Boxes are customized especially for men and women aged 50 and up. — Perfect for parents, grandparents, or any older loved one who’d enjoy a fun surprise in the mail.

You can personalize your Gramsly box with a note and even a photo, which can be easily uploaded to their site. Boxes typically include 10-15 items ranging from snacks, to personal care products, to games, and more. When you purchase the box, there’s a place on the order form where you can indicate any allergies, likes/dislikes, favorite colors, etc. This helps Gramsly select the best items for your loved one’s personal tastes/interests.
