Vegan Presence time again! It feels like I just reviewed October’s package… Geez. Time always flies this time of year. Slow down, autumn!!
Sadly, this is the final month of my 6-mo subscription. I had my husband get it for me for Mother’s Day and now I have to figure out how to convince him to let me renew. Early Christmas gift? I LOVE this sub and don’t wanna see it end… Wahhhh!

Yay! I got my Ecocentric Mom box this month without seeing any spoilers first! I love when that happens.
This is actually the second-last “monthly” box from Ecocentric Mom, as they’ve just announced a change in box frequency. After November’s box, they’ll be sending them out every-other-month, as opposed to monthly. They also made mention of a waiting list for new members at some point. Hint, hint… If you’re on the fence about subscribing, now would be a good time to go for it. Just sayin’. 😉

Bake Box is a monthly subscription service that delivers “new flavors and cupcake inspiration” right to your door. Yep, it’s basically a “cupcake box”. How cute is that?
For $19/month (less with longer subscriptions), you’ll get a box that includes the recipe of the month, at least one high-quality baking ingredient, and various decorative supplies (cupcake liners, toppers, decorating sugars, etc).
Bake Box kindly sent me both the September and October boxes to review. The September box featured Salted Oatmeal Toffee cupcakes with Whipped White Chocolate Buttercream, which would be hard for me to veganize, since it already came with a big bag of white chocolate. I decided to pass that box along to my niece, who LOVES making cupcakes (and doesn’t give a rip about veganism). The October box featured Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes, which were super easy to veganize, so that’s the box I’ll be officially reviewing. 🙂 [read more…]
I *almost* canceled my Goodies kid’s box last month and now I’m really glad I didn’t. This month’s box was PACKED! Sadly, there’s a good reason for the abundance of treats this time around… Goodies is dead. 🙁
Yep, it was recently announced that the Goodies box (both the original and the kid’s version) is calling it quits. The October box was their final shipment. Honestly, I’m not too bummed about it… I had already canceled the “original” box and was probably doing the same with the kid’s one after this month. Sure, it was a good deal at only $7 a box, but the quality of the items was just lacking. Not to mention that a lot of it was straight-up junk food. Gross.
That said, I’m glad I stuck around for their final hurrah. This box was DEFINITELY worth $7… [read more…]
Parenthood Survival is a brand new subscription box that caters to parents and babies during that oh-so-challenging first year. They promise to deliver fun and useful items that’ll (hopefully!) help things go a little smoother for everyone involved.
The website states that the box is best suited for expecting parents and babies up to 9 months old. However, I have 14-month old twin girls and will still be able to put most of the items we received to use.
Parenthood Survival boxes are customizable by gender (neutral also available) and subscriptions are $34.99 per month.

The Fantasy Box is an adult-themed subscription service that helps couples connect (childish pun intended) by offering a new “fantasy in a box” every month. I reviewed their “Essentials” box in September and was super impressed with the, uh, “materials” included. So when the folks at The Fantasy Box asked if I’d like to review another box, I was more than happy to oblige. Yay for sexy time! 😉

When Darby Smart contacted me last month about reviewing one of their DIY kits, I was a little nervous. As I’ve mentioned before, I am NOT too skilled at the whole “arts & crafts” thing. Like, at all.

Woah! My Citrus Lane box arrived SO early this month! I’ve never gotten it this fast. Plus, Monday was a no-mail day. How did this happen??!!
Due to its early-ness, I hadn’t seen many spoilers. It was fun opening the box without knowing exactly what would be in it. What a concept! 😉
For all the newbies out there, Citrus Lane is a monthly subscription for babies/kids (aged newborn-5). It’s $25/month (cheaper with longer subs) and includes a nice assortment of toys, books, snacks, toiletries, etc. Sometimes they even include a gift for mom. 🙂

Love With Food has been delivering some seriously awesome boxes lately. Seriously. Awesome. Most of the items have been vegan, which of course is a HUGE plus for a snack lovin’ vegan gal such as myself.
This is my second month getting the “Deluxe” box ($19.95), and though I like getting more snacks (who wouldn’t?), I think I’m going to go back to the regular ($12.00) box. I’m literally running out of space in my cupboards due to all of the goodies I get every month. #subscriptionboxproblems

Appleseed Lane is a fun new subscription box designed for kiddos 4-8 years old. The box focuses on age-appropriate science projects and related crafts. Each month features a different theme, with projects relating to it. All of the materials needed are right in the box, including a cute little illustrated booklet that explains the science behind the experiments in a kid-friendly way.

Goody Gorilla is a new-ish subscription box that delivers healthy snacks to your door for just $15 a month (shipping included).
When I first got word of this box I was super stoked, since they promised that 90% of the items would be vegan. (It said so in their FAQ’s.) So when I got my box and found that only 4 out of the 7 products were in fact vegan, I was pretty bummed.
Thankfully, customer service was great and offered to send me additional vegan snacks at no charge (even though I requested to cancel my account). I just looked at their FAQ page again and noticed that they took out the “90%” and replaced it with “some”. While it’s sad that they’re not featuring as many vegan products as once promised, it’s cool that they owned up to it and updated their site to reflect that.

The long-awaited Ecocentric Mom Mystery box finally shipped this week! (I know, I know… Please try to contain your excitement.)
Here’s the deal: Every so often Ecocentric Mom announces a “bonus” box available for a one-time purchase of just $25. They promise that it’ll be jam-packed with eco-friendly essentials for both mamma & baby. The last time they offered one of these was back in June, and jam-packed it WAS. You can see that review right here. It was good. Very, very good.

October has been a really good month for boxes so far. First, I got the awesome Vegan Presence package full of my favorite autumn goodies, and then I get this Taste Trunk box in which ALL of the products happen to be vegan. Woohoo!
You probably already know the deal, but if not, Taste Trunk is a monthly food/snack subscription that offers 4 different themed boxes (“trunks”) to choose from: “Sweet Trunk”, “Health Trunk”, “Gourmet Trunk”, and “BBQ Trunk”. If you’re not sure which one to try, there’s an option on their website to switch trunks whenever you want. You can change it every month if that’s the way you roll. Personally, I always stick with the Health one, since I assume I’ll have a better chance at getting vegan-friendly items in the box. (I totally scored this month!)

Okay, so after having kind of a so-so package last month, Vegan Presence totally made up for it with October’s offerings. From the festive Halloween-y ribbons, to the items they chose, it was probably my favorite package from them yet.
