This is my second Love With Food box and the theme this month is “Backyard BBQ”. Thankfully, despite the not-so-vegan theme, there were quite a few vegan-friendly items in the box. Yippee!

Orange Glad August 2013 Review & Discount Code

Orange Glad is a new subscription box launched last month that specializes in baked goods and sweet treats. They select popular items from various bakeries around the country and pack them all together to be delivered right to your door. Boxes start at $15/month plus shipping. Not a bad deal for a box full of yummers.

Unfortunately for me, none of the items in the August box were vegan. However, I fully expected this to be the case, so I wasn’t too bummed. My family was more than happy to take the treats off my hands.

Our Local Box is a fun subscription service that sends you the best of Kentucky every month. Items can range from food/snacks, beauty products, things for the home, and even Kentucky-themed t-shirts.

I was pleasantly surprised to see the August Taste Trunk on my doorstep today. They don’t send tracking numbers, so it just kinda shows up when it wants. Which is sorta nice, since I don’t have to obsessively refresh any tracking pages. 😉

As with last month, I ordered the “Health Trunk”. There are 4 different themed boxes (“trunks”) to choose from: “Sweet Trunk”, “Gourmet Trunk”, and “BBQ Trunk”. Can’t decide which one you want? They have an option on their website to switch trunks whenever you want. You can change it every month if that’s the way you roll. TWIN STUFF

The girls had their twelve month checkup this week. Everything was great, except that the doctor wants them to go to a feeding clinic. They still don’t quite enjoy the whole “solids” thing, nor do they want any part of holding their own bottles. And sippy cups? Pfft. So yeah, I guess they need some… intervention. Anyone have any experience with this sorta thing? Or are my kiddos just little divas who think they’re too posh to chew?

Oh, but these aren’t your everyday “pick ’em up at Target” kinda socks. Nope. These babies are made with bamboo! Why bamboo? Read on, my sock-wearin’ friend!

Zockster, the company behind these unique socks, is all about sustainability. Using bamboo to produce socks takes less than 1/10th of the water needed to make “standard” cotton ones. LaLaaLu Box June/July 2013 Review

I realize that it’s almost August and reviewing a box from June might seem silly, BUT I just received this a couple days ago. I had been in contact with LaLaaLu about reviewing a box, they agreed, and THEN they took a summer hiatus to spend time with their families. So there was no actual July box, which is why I was sent June. I kinda hoped they’d wait and send me the August box, but what can ya do.

LaLaaLu is an expertly-curated box for babies, toddlers, and “big kids”. (I tried to find an actual age range, but their new website is beyond confusing. Their old one wasn’t exactly easy to navigate, but this new one… good luck! Hopefully they’re aware of this and make it a little [a lot] more user-friendly soon.)

Unlike most boxes, with Lalaalu you don’t need to commit to a subscription — you simply purchase boxes as you want them. Every month (or two?), a new theme is released and you just choose your box based on the age of your child. LaLaaLu is based in NYC, so they lean towards hip, “city”-inspired themes. The upcoming August theme is “Urban Yogi”.

Sneak Peek! – 10 Storks Pregnancy Box Review

10 Storks is a new subscription box set to open up shop on August 1st. It’s a box geared towards expectant moms and features necessities (and treats!) that every momma-to-be needs (and wants!). Many of the products are organic and all are 100% safe for mom and her little womb friend. 😉

This is my first “real” month of Ecocentric Mom. I had previously ordered one of their limited “mystery boxes” and was totally impressed with what they sent. Needless to say, when they offered a discount code (now expired) that took $3.00 off the monthly cost for the entire time that I’m a subscriber (making it $18/month), I had to jump on it. Had to!
