Yay! My POPSUGAR Must Have box arrived today and I couldn’t wait to pop it open.
If you’re new here, POPSUGAR Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that’s curated with a fun variety of “on trend” products curated by the POPSUGAR team. Items can range from food, beauty, household, fashion, fitness gear and everything in between. Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, everything in this box is full sized. No foil packets in this bad boy.
Monthly boxes are $39.95 and there’s almost always a discount code available (I’ve included one at the end of this post!). With most boxes having values of $100+, it’s a GREAT deal!
Okay, let’s see what’s in the May POPSUGAR Must Have box!
A look inside. May’s box was inspired by “glowing skin, Mother’s Day, fresh flowers, beach bum, colorful, and California sun”.
As always, the info card included photos, descriptions, and retail values for each item.
Middle Kingdom Mini Plum Vase in Coral Red ($20) – I probably wouldn’t buy something like this for myself on my own, but I’m happy to receive it in a subscription box. It’s a cute little porcelain bud vase perfect for displaying a few flowers from the yard. A great inclusion for a springtime/pre-summer box.
Kitsch Tri’d & True Y-Shaped Necklace ($32) – I love when subscription boxes include silver jewelry! While the length is a bit long for me (36 inches), I’ll still try make a point to wear it. I like that it’s simple & dainty. (I just hope it’s stronger than it looks, because I know my dear toddlers will be all about yanking the crapola out of it. 😉 )
Batiste Dry Shampoo ($4) – I’ve never actually used a dry shampoo, despite getting them in many subscription boxes. I might have to give this one a try though, judging by all of the positive reviews it has on Amazon. Plus, it smells like cherries, sooo… Worth a shot.
Sisters of Los Angeles “Surf Sand Love” Beach Towel ($40) – Now that the weather’s heating up, my kiddos will be doing the whole pool/sprinkler/water table thing… Know how many beach towels we had before this one arrived? Zero. This colorful, enormous towel will be getting a LOT of use this summer. (However, there’s no freakin’ way I’d ever pay $40 for it on my own. Just sayin’. 🙂 )
Sage and Row Bare Shave Cream ($17) – The only time I use shave cream is when I receive it in sub boxes. It just feels like an extra step that I don’t need. That said, I do like that this one is free of parabens, sulfates, and phthalates. It’s also aloe-based (as opposed to water-based like most shave creams) and it contains certified organic ingredients.
Hammond’s Candies McCraw’s Flat Taffy ($1) – The info card states that this is “made with no artificial colors or flavors added”, which is so, SO inaccurate. A quick look at the ingredients clearly shows “natural & artificial flavor, artificial coloring (Blue 1, Red 3, Red 40 & Yellow 5)”. While it’s incredibly unhealthy (I mean, it IS candy), it does happen to be gluten-free and vegan… So there’s that.
Overall, I’m pretty happy with this month’s POPSUGAR Must Have box. The beach towel is probably my favorite item, since I haven’t thought to buy one for the girls yet and it’ll definitely come in handy soon. The bud vase and necklace are both great additions too. All totaled, the contents this month have a value of about $114!
Right now POPSUGAR is offering a FREE gift when you sign up for the next (June) box! Since May is already sold out, they’re making it worth the wait by sending everyone who subscribes for June a FREE Sorial Wallet on a Chain ($49 value) as featured in November’s box! Just use coupon code “WELCOME” at checkout.
When that offer expires, you can still save $5 on your first box when you use coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” at checkout. That’ll make your box around $35 shipped!Browse more Lifestyle Boxes in my Subscription Box Directory
May 2015 POPSUGAR Must Have Review
Great box! Aside from the dry shampoo, I’ll probably use everything in it! The items they chose totally made sense for a spring/early summer box. Love the towel, bud vase, and necklace. Though it’s totally unhealthy, I’m happy that the taffy is actually vegan too. 🙂
