June 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have unboxing time!
If you’re new here, POPSUGAR Must Have is a monthly lifestyle subscription box that’s curated with a fun variety of “on trend” products curated by the POPSUGAR team. Items can range from food, beauty, household, fashion, fitness gear and everything in between. Unlike a lot of other subscription boxes, everything in this box is full sized. The total value is almost always well over $100!
Monthly boxes are $39.95, but you can save $5 on your first month with coupon code “MUSTHAVE5“.
Okay, let’s see what’s in the June 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box!
The box was considerably smaller than usual and I actually thought it was the POPSUGAR Mini at first.
A peek inside.
As always, the info card included photos, descriptions, and retail values for each item. The June 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box was inspired by the following themes: Sunshine, Cheers, Joy, Togetherness, Outdoors, and Festivities.
Hat Attack Neutral Diamonds Printed Sarong ($58) – I believe this was the first spoiler released for June’s box. I honestly wasn’t too thrilled to see a sarong, as it’s not something I would ever wear (even if I actually had a body like the model shown above)… However, I noticed another reviewer using it as a plain ol’ scarf, so I think I’ll probably do the same. I couldn’t find any details as to what it’s made of, but I can’t imagine paying $58 for such a thin piece of fabric. If I had to pay almost $60 for a chintzy coverup, I’d just go ahead and buy a jacket instead. 😉
NCLA Born on the 4th Nail Lacquer ($16) – A pretty, “5-free” glitter polish that’s perfect for decking out your nails for the 4th of July. It can be worn alone or over your favorite coordinating shade as a bling-ed out top coat.
Wild and Wolf Ridley’s Games Room “Who Am I” Quiz ($12.95) – I love when subscription boxes include fun items like games! This simple party game is played by trying to guess the celebrity each card is referring to using the least amount of clues. The stylish box contains 140 cards, along with an instruction sheet.
Knock Knock Are You Ready (For Your Close-Up?) Compact ($10) – When I first opened this compact, I was NOT “ready for my close-up”. This thing has some serious magnification goin’ on. It’s obviously great for makeup application, but if you have any flaws you’d rather not see super close up, heed my warning. Just sayin’.
Sister of Los Angeles “Cheers” Gold Bottle Opener ($12) – Meh. This is one of those items that I really have no use for. I already have plenty of bottle openers and I’m not a fan of gold. It’s also a lot larger than I expected it to be. Again: meh.
Pacifica Underarm Deodorant Wipes ($9) – Okay, these are kinda cool. I sometimes reapply my deodorant on particularly hot & sweaty days (ew), so these will be a great (cleaner) alternative. The towelettes are infused with coconut milk & essential oils and are aluminum-free, biodegradable, and vegan-friendly.
Pressels in Siracha Flavor ($1.29) – These actually look more like crispy bagels than pretzels, but whatever. 😉 They have 80% less fat than regular chips and look to be vegan-friendly, which of course is a plus for me!
I wasn’t really thrilled with my June POPSUGAR Must Have box, but it wasn’t awful. I can’t say that any one item really stood out to me as being particularly awesome though… It was more of a “I suppose I can use some of this stuff” kinda thing once I had gone through everything. Maybe I’m getting pickier as I review more and more boxes? I dunno. As always the total value was impressive — roughly $120 in products!
If you’d like to check out POPSUGAR Must Have for yourself, you can save $5 on your first box when you use coupon code “MUSTHAVE5” at checkout. That’ll make your box around $35 shipped!
June 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have Review
Just an alright box for me. Nothing really stood out to me as being particularly awesome, but it was still a great value as always. My favorite items were the card game, deodorant wipes, and maybe the sarong (scarf!). Here’s hoping July’s box is more exciting!
