As always, the info card included photos, descriptions, and retail values for each item. The September 2016 POPSUGAR Must Have box was inspired by the following themes: Glamorous, Eye-Catching, Indulgent, Bold, Timeless, and Sartorial.
Jack & Lucy Bicoastal Wide Brim Hat ($58) – Yeeeah… When I first saw the spoiler for this hat, I was like “Nope”. However, I tried to keep an open mind and when I actually received it & got to check in out in person… Um, still “nope”. 😉 It’s just not my style at all. Plus, it’s made from 100% wool, which obviously isn’t very vegan. Ah well, I’m sure I’ll find it a good home.
NCLA Mani-ER Tool Kit ($16) – I’m still fighting a losing battle when it comes to trying not to bite my nails on the daily, so I’m not sure if I’ll get much use out of this mani kit. To be honest, I’m not even sure what all of these tools are even for. A handy set for non-biters though. 😉
Briogeo Don’t Despair, Repair! Deep Conditioning Mask ($36) – I feel like I’ve gotten samples of this in a couple beauty boxes, but have never actually tried it. I had no idea how pricey it was! This sulfate-free deep conditioning mask claims to restore natural vibrancy on even the most overprocessed hair in a matter of minutes. I’ve recently started dyeing my hair again, so I suppose this couldn’t hurt.
F’lint Lint Roller ($9.99) – This isn’t the most exciting item, but at least it’s something I’ll use. It’s a sleek-looking retractable lint roller that you can tuck in your bag without worrying about it sticking to things it shouldn’t. It comes with 30 sheets and can be easily refilled when they’ve run out.
Smith & Cult Lip Lacquer in “The Warning” ($22) – A bold red gloss with gold “microshimmer”, whose formula is both paraben-free and gluten-free. I’m personally not much of a gloss person and this shade is way too bold/red for my complexion anyway.
The Gluten Free Bites Dark Chocolate Coconut Bites ($4.99) – YES! Finally, a vegan-friendly (and gluten-free) snack item! These bites are made with all-natural, non-GMO, certified gluten-free, vegan, and dairy-free ingredients including toasted coconut, organic dates, brown rice protein, pea protein, organic dark chocolate, and more. Yum!!
Clearly, this wasn’t exactly my favorite POPSUGAR Must Have box. The hat was a total miss, I won’t wear the gloss, and the mani kit is something I don’t need. My favorite items were the lint roller and gluten free bites (the most inexpensive items in the box). Still, the total retail value of everything was just under $147, so it was still a worthwhile box (especially if you wear brimmed wool hats). 😉
