I recently reviewed February’s Chococurb box (seen here) and was very impressed with the unique selection of chocolates they sent. By sheer luck, that box was also totally vegan. I wasn’t quite so lucky this time, but I was equally as impressed with the treats.

Chococurb hand selects 5 to 7 treats from the top chocolatiers in the world to be included in each box. The folks at Chococurb believe that chocolate is more than just food – it’s an experience to be enjoyed and shared. That’s why they only include the finest treats, made by the best brands. Geek Fuel is a newer subscription box that caters to fans of all things “nerdy”. I reviewed their January box and thought it was pretty fun, so I was excited to see what would be in store for March.

Geek Fuel boxes can include items such as t-shirts, action figures, comics, movie posters, toys, downloadable games, and more. They feature plenty of exclusive items and promise a total value of at least $40 in each box. [read more…]

Glossybox March 2015 Review

My March Glossybox was delayed due to “extreme weather” near their warehouse. It finally arrived a couple days ago but I’m pretty happy with it, so no biggie.

If you’re not aware, Glossybox is a monthly beauty subscription box that sends 5-6 deluxe sized samples packed inside a super sturdy, reusable box. The packaging is top notch and only the highest quality brands are included. Ecocentric Mom March/April 2015 Review

Ecocentric Mom time! I keep telling myself to switch over to the “mom” version of the box, but I’m just not ready to give up the cutesy baby things (or admit that my 2 1/2 year olds aren’t babies anymore!).

If you’re unaware, Ecocentric Mom is a unique subscription box that features mom & baby products that are eco-friendly, natural, organic, and often vegan-friendly. There are 3 different box options to choose from. I (still) subscribe to the “Mom & Baby” box, but they also offer a “Mom-to-Be Box” and just a plain ol’ “Mom” box. They also recently announced a new “Ecocentric Box” for women in general (moms and non-moms alike!).

It’s finally Spring! So it only makes sense that Ipsy’s theme for March is “Floral Fantasy”. Peace out, snow.

If you’re new here, Ipsy is a beauty subscription that sends subscribers a monthly “Glam Bag” full of cosmetics and beauty accessories for just $10/month. When you sign up, you take a “beauty quiz” to determine your likes/dislikes, makeup preferences, etc. This helps Ipsy learn which products to send in your Glam Bag. OwlCrate is a brand new subscription box for fans of young adult novels. Every month will be centered around a different theme and contain not only a newly published hardcover book, but a handful of other fun book-related goodies as well.

OwlCrate is run by a cute couple from Vancouver, BC who are self proclaimed “massive book geeks”. They founded this subscription in order to bring together fellow book nerds and spread the magic of the written word throughout the world. I recently found out that BuddhiBox has started offering their subscribers a vegan box option. How cool is that? When you sign up, you simply check a box indicating that you prefer vegan items and you’re good to go. Easy peasy!

I still haven’t received my own March Citrus Lane box yet, but my mom got hers a couple days ago… This seems to happen a lot and makes absolutely no sense since we live all of 20 minutes apart. Anywho, she brought it along today when she stopped over to visit the kiddos. Thanks, mom!

Spring is (finally!) almost here and Easter is a little over 2 weeks away… What better way to celebrate the changing season and upcoming holiday than with chocolate! (Vegan chocolate, of course.) Sjaak’s Organic Chocolates kindly sent me a sampling of their holiday-themed confections to “tastefully” ring in the new season.

I’ve been a big (BIG) fan of Sjaak’s for a couple years now. I first discovered them in a subscription box (the now defunct Vegan Presence, I believe), and they’ve since been featured in a few others. They’re a family-owned business dedicated to producing high quality confections while maintaining socially responsible practices.
